The Nordic Semiconductor NRF52810-QCAA-R is the baseline member of the nRF52 Series Bluetooth Low Energy SoC family, offering a compelling combination of advanced BLE 5 features, ultra-low power consumption, and a compact QFN-32 (5x5mm) package. The 64MHz Cortex-M4 processor with 192KB Flash and 24KB RAM provides sufficient computing resources for stand-alone BLE applications or as a network processor paired with a more powerful application host. Bluetooth 5 support including the 2Mbps high-throughput mode enables faster OTA firmware updates and higher-bandwidth sensor data streaming while reducing on-air time by up to 50% compared to 1Mbps mode. The integrated balun with single-ended 50-ohm output simplifies the RF front-end to just a matching network and antenna, reducing BOM cost and PCB area. On-chip DC/DC and LDO regulators, combined with 0.3uA System OFF current, make the device ideal for coin-cell and energy-harvesting applications.

The NRF52810 integrates a complete BLE radio system and application processor on a single die. The 2.4GHz radio transceiver uses a fractional-N frequency synthesizer and direct-conversion receiver architecture. The transmitter generates a constant-envelope GFSK-modulated signal at -20 to +4dBm output power, fed through the integrated balun to the single-ended ANT pin. The receiver uses a low-IF architecture with on-chip channel filtering, achieving -96dBm sensitivity in BLE 1Mbps mode. The ARM Cortex-M4 executes application code and the Nordic SoftDevice (pre-compiled protocol stack) from the 192KB Flash, with the SoftDevice handling all radio timing, link layer, and GAP/GATT operations. The EasyDMA system allows peripherals (SPI, TWI, UART, PDM) to transfer data directly to/from RAM without CPU intervention. The PPI (Programmable Peripheral Interconnect) allows hardware events to trigger peripheral actions without CPU involvement. The on-chip DC/DC converter steps down the supply voltage to the 1.3V core rail with over 90% efficiency.
