The NC7SZ32M5X from onsemi is a single 2-input OR gate from the Ultra-High Speed (UHS) series of TinyLogic devices. Fabricated with advanced CMOS technology, it achieves ultra-high speed with 2.4 ns typical propagation delay at 5V while maintaining low static power dissipation. The device operates from 1.65V to 5.5V with high output drive of +/-24 mA at 3V. Overvoltage-tolerant inputs accept voltages up to 6V independent of VCC, facilitating level translation in mixed-voltage systems. The inputs and output enter a high-impedance state when VCC is 0V, supporting hot-swap and live insertion applications.

The NC7SZ32M5X implements the Boolean OR function Y = A + B in positive logic. When either or both inputs (A, B) are at a logic high level, the output Y goes high; only when both inputs are low does the output go low. The CMOS implementation uses complementary N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs in a push-pull output configuration, providing symmetrical drive capability of +/-24 mA at 3V. The overvoltage-tolerant input structure uses isolated N-well diodes that prevent current flow when input voltages exceed VCC, enabling safe interfacing between voltage domains. Proprietary noise/EMI reduction circuitry minimizes ground bounce and simultaneous switching noise.
