The MS8N100FT from MASPOWER is an N-channel power MOSFET rated for 1000V VDS and 8A ID in a TO-220 package, designed for offline switching power supplies, motor drives, and high-voltage converter applications.

The N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET conducts when the gate-source voltage (VGS) exceeds the threshold voltage (VGS(th)). This creates an inversion layer in the P-type body region, forming a conductive channel between drain and source. The 1000V rating is achieved through a vertical DMOS structure with a thick drift region. When VGS is removed, the channel disappears and the MOSFET blocks current flow up to the rated VDS.
