The LT3462AES6#TRPBF is an Analog Devices inverting DC/DC converter that generates a negative output voltage from a positive input supply. It integrates a 36V Schottky diode, requiring only a single inductor and capacitors externally. The device operates at 1.2 MHz or 2.7 MHz switching frequency, enabling small external components. Input voltage range is 2.7 V to 16 V with output current up to 350 mA. Current mode control provides fast transient response and easy loop compensation. The E grade is rated for -40°C to +85°C in a 6-lead SOT-23 package.

The LT3462 operates as an inverting DC/DC converter using current mode control. During the switch-on phase, the internal N-channel MOSFET connects the inductor to the input supply, causing inductor current to ramp up linearly. When the MOSFET turns off, the inductor current flows through the integrated Schottky diode to the negative output capacitor, transferring stored energy. The current mode control loop compares the peak inductor current (sensed through an internal resistor) with the error amplifier output to regulate the output voltage. The integrated Schottky diode eliminates the need for an external diode, reducing component count and board space.
