LMZ31520RLG

The LMZ31520RLG from Texas Instruments is an easy-to-use integrated power module combining a 20A DC/DC converter with power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor, and passives in a low-profile QFN package. Accepting 3.0V to 14.5V input and providing adjustable output from 0.6V to 3.6V at up to 20A, it requires as few as three external components. The module eliminates loop compensation and magnetics selection, featuring up to 96% efficiency with comprehensive protection including OCP, OTP, and UVLO.

The LMZ31520 uses a voltage-mode buck converter topology with integrated power MOSFETs and a shielded inductor. The control IC implements voltage-mode control with an internal compensator, eliminating the need for external loop compensation. The output voltage is set by an external resistor divider connected to the VADJ pin. The module includes a 5V LDO (V5V) for internal circuitry, selectable switching frequency, and configurable slow-start time. Auto-skip Eco-mode reduces switching losses at light loads, while FCCM mode maintains continuous conduction for lower output ripple.
