The LMV7219M7X/NOPB is a low-power, high-speed comparator from Texas Instruments with an ultra-fast 7ns propagation delay while consuming only 1.1mA at 5V. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5V supply and features a push-pull rail-to-rail output that can directly drive logic gates without pull-up resistors. Internal hysteresis ensures clean output transitions even with slowly varying or noisy input signals. The input common-mode voltage range extends 200mV below ground, enabling ground-sensing applications. Packaged in the tiny SC70-5 (also available in SOT-23-5), it is ideal for space-constrained high-speed signal processing in portable and battery-powered equipment.

The LMV7219 operates as a single-ended voltage comparator with three key subsystems. (1) The differential input stage compares the voltage at the non-inverting input (+IN) against the inverting input (-IN), with the input common-mode range extending 200mV below the negative rail (ground) to enable ground-sensing applications. Internal hysteresis of approximately 3.5mV provides noise immunity by creating two distinct threshold levels for positive-going and negative-going input transitions. (2) The high-gain amplification stage provides the voltage gain needed to convert a small input differential into a full logic-level output swing, achieving the 7ns propagation delay through optimized internal node capacitances and bias currents. (3) The push-pull output stage drives rail-to-rail output voltages directly, sourcing and sinking current without requiring external pull-up resistors, with 1.3ns rise and fall times into capacitive loads.
