The LM5146RHHR from Texas Instruments is a synchronous buck controller operating from 4.5-65V input with 2.2MHz switching frequency in a VQFN-28 package. It drives external N-channel MOSFETs for high-efficiency power conversion in telecom, industrial, and automotive applications.

The controller uses peak current mode control. An error amplifier compares the output voltage feedback with an internal reference. The error signal controls the peak inductor current through a PWM comparator. The high-side gate driver turns on the external high-side MOSFET, and the low-side driver controls the synchronous MOSFET. Adaptive dead-time control prevents shoot-through current.
