The LM22678TJE-ADJ/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a SIMPLE SWITCHER 5A step-down regulator with wide 4.5V to 42V input range. The adjustable output (from 1.285V) with ±1.5% feedback accuracy is set by external resistors. An integrated 100 mΩ N-channel MOSFET and internal voltage-mode compensation simplify design. Features include precision enable, integrated boot diode and soft-start, and comprehensive protection.

The LM22678 uses voltage-mode control with internal Type III compensation, stable with low-ESR ceramic output capacitors. A precision enable pin provides controlled startup. The integrated boot diode simplifies external component count. Current limit protects the internal MOSFET, with foldback mode during severe overload. The 500 kHz fixed frequency enables compact inductor selection.
