IR2110STRPBF

The IR2110STRPBF from Infineon (formerly International Rectifier) is a high-voltage, high-speed gate driver IC designed to drive N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs in half-bridge configurations. The floating high-side channel operates up to 500V using a bootstrap capacitor for the supply. The proprietary HVIC and latch-immune CMOS technology provides robust monolithic construction. Logic inputs are compatible with 3.3V logic, and CMOS Schmitt-triggered inputs with internal pull-down resistors prevent floating inputs. The gate drive supply range of 10V to 20V supports standard power MOSFET and IGBT gate drive voltages. Undervoltage lockout on both channels prevents insufficient gate drive. The IR2110STRPBF consists of two independent gate driver channels: a low-side driver referenced to COM (power ground) and a high-side driver referenced to VS (the switch node). The level-shifting circuit transfers the HIN logic signal from the logic ground (VSS) reference to the floating VS reference. The Schmitt-triggered inputs provide noise immunity, and the internal pull-down resistors ensure the outputs default to off when inputs are floating. The undervoltage lockout (UVLO) circuit on the VBS supply ensures the high-side driver does not output a partial gate voltage if the bootstrap capacitor is not sufficiently charged. The SD (shutdown) input, when driven high, immediately disables both outputs on a cycle-by-cycle basis without latching, allowing the PWM controller to resume operation on the next cycle. The matched propagation delay (120ns on, 94ns off) ensures synchronized switching of both channels, critical for dead-time control in half-bridge converters.
