The Hongfa HFD42/12-3SR is a 4th-generation ultra-compact signal relay featuring a 12VDC coil and DPDT (2 Form C) contact arrangement in a surface-mount gull-wing package. With an ultra-narrow width of just 5.7mm, the HFD42 enables high-density relay packing on PCBs. The 4A maximum switching current with AgNi gold-plated contacts ensures reliable switching for both low-level analog signals and moderate power loads. The coil-to-contact surge voltage rating of 2.5kV provides reinforced insulation. The sealed plastic housing protects contacts from flux and cleaning agent ingress during PCB assembly, and the SMD gull-wing termination is compatible with lead-free reflow soldering profiles.

The HFD42/12-3SR is a monostable electromagnetic relay. When 12VDC is applied across the coil terminals, the resulting magnetic field pulls the armature toward the core, transferring the contact springs to change NC contacts to open and NO contacts to closed. When coil voltage is removed, the return spring restores the original contact state. The DPDT configuration provides two independent single-pole double-throw switching elements. The AgNi contact material with gold plating provides low and stable contact resistance for both dry-circuit and power switching applications.
