Import Duties & Taxes

- Handling of Lost or Damaged Goods
- In case of loss or severe damage during transit, please contact us within 48 hours after receiving the tracking information. We will assist you in filing a claim with the logistics provider.

The FT245RL-REEL from FTDI Chip is a USB 2.0 full-speed to parallel FIFO bridge controller. The device converts USB data to a simple 8-bit parallel FIFO interface with handshaking signals (RXF, TXE, RD, WR), enabling microcontrollers and FPGAs to communicate with a USB host without implementing USB protocol stacks. The 256-byte receive and 128-byte transmit buffers absorb USB transfer latency and provide smooth data streaming. The integrated 93C46-compatible EEPROM allows customization of USB VID, PID, serial number, and device description strings. The internal 3.3V regulator means the device requires only a single 5V supply, with 5V-tolerant I/O pins for direct connection to 5V logic. Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers provide a serial port abstraction, while the D2XX direct driver API enables maximum transfer rates up to 1 MB/s.
The FT245RL-REEL implements the complete USB 2.0 full-speed device protocol in hardware, including the USB SIE (Serial Interface Engine), USB transceiver, and protocol handler. On the USB side, the SIE handles NRZI encoding/decoding, bit stuffing, CRC generation/checking, and packet formatting. On the FIFO side, the 8-bit data bus (D0-D7) transfers data between the FT245R and the external controller. When data is available from the USB host, the RXF# pin goes LOW; the external controller reads data by asserting RD# LOW, which clocks the next byte from the RX FIFO onto D0-D7. To send data to the USB host, the external controller checks TXE# (LOW means TX FIFO has space), then writes data by placing it on D0-D7 and asserting WR# LOW. The handshaking signals ensure no data is lost even when the external controller and USB host operate at different speeds. The internal EEPROM stores USB descriptors (VID, PID, manufacturer string, product string, serial number) that are read during USB enumeration. The internal 3.3V regulator generates the USB transceiver supply from the 5V VCC input.
