The FSUSB63UMX from onsemi is a 3:1 USB 2.0 high-speed switch and multiplexer designed for routing USB D+/D- differential signals between one common port and three selectable source ports. The device supports USB 2.0 high-speed (480Mbps) and full-speed (12Mbps) signaling with 830MHz of -3dB bandwidth and low on-resistance of 6 ohm typical. The two-bit select input (SEL[1:0]) chooses among the three USB ports or places the device in sleep mode, with break-before-make timing of 126us to prevent momentary bus contention. The ultra-compact UMLP-12 package (1.80mm x 1.80mm) makes the FSUSB63UMX ideal for smartphones, tablets, and other portable devices where PCB real estate is extremely limited. The device draws only 7.5uA in active mode and less than 1uA in sleep mode, minimizing battery drain.

The FSUSB63UMX uses a 3:1 SP3T (single-pole, triple-throw) analog switch architecture to connect the common D+/D- USB port to one of three source port pairs. The SEL[1:0] control pins select the active port: 00 = sleep mode (all switches open), 01 = Port 1, 10 = Port 2, 11 = Port 3. When switching between ports, the break-before-make logic ensures the previously active path is disconnected for 126us before the new path is connected, preventing USB signal contention. The low 6-ohm on-resistance and 6pF on-capacitance are critical for meeting USB 2.0 high-speed eye diagram requirements. The device is powered from a 2.7V to 4.4V supply, compatible with Li-Ion battery voltages and 3.3V rails. The sleep mode disables all signal paths and reduces current to below 1uA.
