The CMX865AE4 from CML Microcircuits is a low-power V.22bis modem IC supporting data rates up to 2400bps with integrated DSP, SPI control interface, and 24-TSSOP package for smart meter and telemetry applications.

The CMX865 implements modem transmit and receive functions using an integrated DSP core. On the transmit side, digital data is modulated according to the selected standard (e.g., QAM for V.22bis, DPSK for V.22) and converted to analog by an internal DAC. On the receive side, the analog line signal is digitized by an ADC and processed by the DSP for demodulation, equalization, and error correction. The SPI interface allows the host MCU to configure modem parameters and read/write data.
