The CC1175RHBR from Texas Instruments is a low-power, high-performance Sub-1GHz RF transmitter designed for low-power wireless systems. It covers the 281MHz to 960MHz frequency range, supporting all major global Sub-1GHz ISM bands including 315MHz, 433MHz, 868MHz, and 915MHz. The device supports a wide range of modulation formats including 2-FSK, 4-FSK, GFSK, ASK, OOK, and MSK, making it compatible with numerous proprietary and standards-based protocols. The +15dBm output power provides sufficient range for most ISM-band applications without an external power amplifier. The integrated fractional-N PLL synthesizer allows fine frequency resolution for channelized systems. The 0.5uA sleep current enables years of battery life in duty-cycled transmit-only applications. Configuration is through a standard SPI interface at up to 10MHz.

The CC1175 uses a direct-conversion (zero-IF) transmitter architecture. The digital modulation data is processed by the digital modulator, which generates I and Q baseband signals. These are converted to analog by dual DACs and filtered by low-pass filters to remove aliasing components. The I and Q signals then modulate the carrier in the quadrature upconverter mixer, producing the modulated RF signal. The signal passes through a programmable power amplifier (PA) that can be set from -30dBm to +15dBm. The fractional-N PLL synthesizer generates the local oscillator (LO) signal from a crystal reference, providing fine frequency resolution. The frequency deviation, data rate, and modulation format are all configured through SPI registers. In ASK/OOK mode, the PA is directly modulated on/off. The PA includes an integrated harmonic filter and supports antenna diversity through a separate RF output.
