The BSP742R is a single-channel intelligent high-side power switch from Infineon Classic PROFET 12V family in Smart SIPMOS technology. It integrates N-channel vertical power FET with charge pump, CMOS input, and diagnostic feedback. Embedded protections include overload, current limitation, short circuit, thermal shutdown with restart, overvoltage (including load dump), and reverse battery protection. With 350mOhm on-resistance and 0.4A nominal current, it replaces electromechanical relays in 12V/24V automotive DC applications.

The BSP742R integrates power stage with control logic and protection. (1) Power: N-channel vertical MOSFET driven by internal charge pump for low Ron. (2) Control: CMOS-compatible IN pin activates switch; 26uA standby when off. (3) Protection: Current limit at 0.4A min; thermal shutdown at 150C with auto-restart; overvoltage clamp at 41V. (4) Diagnostics: Open-drain ST pin indicates faults; open load detection in OFF-state. (5) Reverse protection: External GND resistor provides reverse battery protection.
