The ADUM1411BRWZ-RL is a quad digital isolator from Analog Devices in SOIC-16W (wide body) with 5000Vrms isolation rating and 25Mbps data rate. The channel configuration is 2/2 bidirectional: two channels (A, B) transfer data from side 1 to side 2, and two channels (C, D) transfer data from side 2 to side 1. This bidirectional configuration enables half-duplex communication across the isolation barrier with a single device (e.g., SPI with MISO and MOSI in opposite directions). The iCoupler technology uses on-chip transformers with polyimide insulation: the transmitter encodes the input signal into short pulses that magnetically couple across the transformer, and the receiver decodes them. The 5000Vrms isolation (W suffix = wide body with 8mm creepage) meets reinforced insulation requirements for IEC 61010-1 and medical equipment standards. The refresh circuit sends DC state updates every 2us to maintain output correctness. Propagation delay is 32ns typical, with 2ns channel-to-channel skew. The EN1/EN2 pins independently disable outputs on each side for power management. When disabled, outputs go to high-impedance state. The default output state (when the input side is unpowered) is determined by the part number variant: the -1411 sets outputs LOW in fail-safe condition. Each side operates from 2.7-5.5V independently, supporting level translation.
