The TPS53353DQPR is a 15A synchronous step-down converter with integrated 8mOhm/5mOhm MOSFETs in VQFN-22 (3.5×3.5mm). It uses D-CAP+ (Direct Capacitor-Available Plus) control mode, a proprietary constant-on-time architecture with adaptive voltage positioning. Unlike voltage-mode or current-mode control, D-CAP+ does not require external compensation for most output capacitor combinations. The on-time is modulated inversely with VIN to maintain pseudo-constant frequency. The error amplifier compares FB against a 0.6V reference and adjusts the on-time to regulate output voltage. The low-side MOSFET operates synchronously during the off-time, eliminating diode conduction losses and improving efficiency to 95%. The device supports 500kHz or 300kHz switching. Over-current protection monitors the low-side MOSFET voltage drop for valley current limiting.
