The LM5017MR/NOPB is a 100V, 600mA synchronous step-down regulator with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs from Texas Instruments. Using constant on-time (COT) control, it eliminates the need for loop compensation while providing excellent transient response. The wide 7.5V to 100V input range suits industrial 24V/48V systems and telecom rectified buses. The unique Fly-Buck topology enables isolated output generation without optocouplers. The HSOIC-8 (DDA) package features an exposed thermal pad for efficient heat dissipation.

The LM5017 uses constant on-time control. (1) On-Time: When FB falls below the internal reference (1.225V), the high-side MOSFET turns on for a fixed on-time proportional to VOUT/VIN. (2) Off-Time: After on-time expires, the high-side turns off and the low-side MOSFET turns on until the next cycle. (3) Fly-Buck Mode: A coupled inductor on the output generates an isolated secondary output without optocoupler feedback. (4) Protection: Cycle-by-cycle current limit, thermal shutdown at 165C, and programmable UVLO with hysteresis protect the device.
