The ESD5302N-3/TR from Will Semiconductor is a 2-line, uni-directional, ultra-low capacitance transient voltage suppressor (TVS) array designed to protect high-speed data interfaces from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. The device incorporates two pairs of ultra-low capacitance steering diodes plus a TVS diode to protect sensitive electronic components connected to data and transmission lines. With a standoff voltage of 5V and typical junction capacitance of only 0.4pF, the ESD5302N is ideal for protecting USB, HDMI, SATA, and other high-speed interfaces where signal integrity is critical.

The ESD5302N operates using a combination of steering diodes and a central TVS diode. When an ESD event or surge occurs on the protected data lines, the steering diodes route the transient current to the TVS diode, which clamps the voltage to a safe level. The ultra-low capacitance design (0.4pF typ.) ensures minimal signal distortion on high-speed data lines. The device provides bidirectional protection for two data lines simultaneously in a compact 3-pin DFN package, with the TVS diode clamping negative and positive transients relative to ground.
