The TLV6710DDCR from Texas Instruments is a micropower, high-voltage window comparator with an integrated 400mV reference in a SOT-23-6 thin package. The device operates from a 1.8V to 36V supply range, making it suitable for direct monitoring of battery stacks and power rails without additional voltage dividers on the supply pin. Two high-accuracy comparators with an internal 400mV reference and 0.25% typical threshold accuracy provide precise voltage monitoring. The device can be configured as a window comparator (monitoring both overvoltage and undervoltage conditions simultaneously) or as two independent comparators. OUTA is driven low when the voltage at INA+ drops below the threshold, functioning as an undervoltage detector. OUTB is driven low when the voltage at INB- rises above the threshold, functioning as an overvoltage detector. Both comparators include 5.5mV internal hysteresis for noise immunity, preventing output chattering on slowly moving input signals. (1) Comparator A (Undervoltage): The inverting input of Comparator A is internally connected to the 400mV reference. When the voltage at INA+ (non-inverting) drops below 400mV minus hysteresis (394.5mV), OUTA goes low. When INA+ rises above 400mV, OUTA goes high-impedance (open-drain). This detects undervoltage conditions. (2) Comparator B (Overvoltage): The non-inverting input of Comparator B is internally connected to the 400mV reference. When the voltage at INB- (inverting) rises above 400mV plus hysteresis, OUTB goes low. When INB- drops below 400mV minus hysteresis, OUTB goes high-impedance. This detects overvoltage conditions. (3) Window Mode: By connecting both INA+ and INB- to the same monitored voltage through external resistor dividers, the device simultaneously detects both undervoltage (OUTA) and overvoltage (OUTB) conditions, creating a window comparator. (4) Threshold Setting: External resistor dividers scale the monitored voltage down to the 400mV threshold. The 0.25% reference accuracy ensures precise trip points. The 5.5mV hysteresis provides noise margin.
