The TDA8029HL/C207 from NXP is a complete single-chip smart card reader with 80C51 core, ISO 7816 UART, and DC-DC converter. The /C207 mask contains firmware supporting T=0 and T=1 protocols with EMV compliance. DC-DC auto-selects 1.8V/3V/5V card voltage.

80C51 core executes embedded ROM firmware handling card activation/deactivation, ATR processing, protocol selection, and data exchange. DC-DC generates card VCC. ISO7816 UART handles character-level processing with parity checking and auto retransmission.
