The 66.666 MHz frequency is widely used in MPEG-2 and digital video processing applications as the master clock for video encoding/decoding. The T1 temperature code extends the operating range to -40C to +85C for industrial environments, and the B stability code guarantees ±50ppm total frequency accuracy including all contributing factors. The stop function allows the system to disable the oscillator output during sleep modes, reducing current consumption from 70mA to 20uA. The ceramic/metal seam-sealed package provides excellent frequency stability and phase jitter performance below 1ps RMS, critical for video timing applications where clock jitter translates to timing errors in the video data stream.

The O 66.66600-JO75-B-3.3-1-T1-LF operates as a fixed-frequency crystal oscillator where an internal AT-cut quartz crystal resonator at 66.666 MHz is integrated with a sustaining amplifier and HCMOS output buffer. The oscillator maintains continuous oscillation at the crystal’s resonant frequency with the amplifier compensating for crystal losses. The HCMOS output buffer provides rail-to-rail signal swings between 0.1 x VDC and 0.9 x VDC with 45-55% duty cycle symmetry. The stop function on pin 1 enables power management by disabling the amplifier when driven low, reducing standby current to 20uA.
