The Surge Components RZW101M1ASA-0511S is a through-hole aluminum electrolytic capacitor from the RZW series, offering 100µF capacitance at 10VDC in a compact radial lead package (5mm diameter x 11mm length). With a 4000-hour endurance rating at 105°C and low impedance of 580mΩ at 100kHz, it provides effective ripple current filtering for power supply and audio applications. The radial lead design ensures reliable PCB mounting with a 2.0mm lead spacing.

The RZW series capacitor uses etched aluminum foil electrodes separated by electrolyte-impregnated paper, with a thin aluminum oxide layer on the anode foil serving as the dielectric. The low impedance design is achieved through optimized foil etching for maximum surface area and low-resistance electrolyte formulation. During operation, the capacitor charges and discharges in response to AC ripple components superimposed on the DC voltage, effectively smoothing the output voltage. The low ESR minimizes power dissipation and self-heating when conducting ripple current.
