The MK64FN1M0VLL12 is built around an Arm Cortex-M4F core with a 4-stage pipeline executing Thumb-2 instructions at up to 120MHz. The crossbar switch enables concurrent multi-master bus accesses to Flash, SRAM, and peripherals via a 16-channel DMA controller. The dual-bank Flash architecture allows one bank to execute code while the other is being programmed, enabling firmware-over-the-air updates without halting execution. The FlexMemory controller provides up to 4KB of byte-writeable EEPROM emulation with over 10 million write cycles, plus 128KB of additional FlexNVM. The Ethernet MAC with IEEE 1588 precision time protocol hardware timestamping enables sub-microsecond clock synchronization for industrial real-time networks. The USB 2.0 OTG controller integrates a 48MHz oscillator, eliminating the need for an external crystal.
