The ESD5V5U5ULCE6327HTSA1 from Infineon Technologies is a 4-channel ultra-low capacitance ESD protection diode array designed for high-speed digital interfaces. The 0.2 pF typical line capacitance preserves signal integrity on high-speed data lines such as USB 3.0 (5 Gbps), HDMI (3.4 Gbps per lane), and DisplayPort. The +/-15 kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge rating provides robust ESD protection for externally accessible ports. The 5.5V working voltage is compatible with 5V USB and HDMI data lines. The 9.2V clamping voltage at 3A effectively limits the voltage seen by the protected IC during an ESD event. The TSSOP-6 package provides a compact footprint with 0.5mm pitch for space-constrained designs. The E6327HTSA1 suffix encodes Infineon’s full ordering code including tape and reel packaging.

The ESD5V5U5ULCE6327HTSA1 uses steering diodes to redirect ESD current away from the protected IC and into the power rails. Each channel consists of two steering diodes: one from the data line to VCC and one from the data line to GND. During normal operation, the data line voltage stays within the GND-to-VCC range, and both diodes are reverse-biased, presenting only the 0.2 pF junction capacitance to the signal. When a positive ESD strike occurs on the data line, the upper steering diode forward-biases and conducts the ESD current to VCC, where a TVS clamp (internal or external) dissipates the energy. For a negative strike, the lower diode conducts to GND. The 0.2 pF capacitance is achieved through advanced silicon process technology that minimizes the diode junction area while maintaining adequate ESD current handling capability. The 9.2V clamping voltage is the sum of the forward diode drop and the TVS clamp voltage at the peak ESD current.
