Operating at 5MHz switching frequency from a 2.375V to 5.5V input, it delivers an adjustable output from 0.6V to 5V at up to 92% efficiency. The total solution footprint is only approximately 75mm², requiring just input and output capacitors externally. Note: This device is obsolete; the EN5339QI or Intel Enpirion 3A PowerSoC alternatives should be considered for new designs.

The EN5337QI uses a voltage-mode PWM control architecture operating at a fixed 5MHz switching frequency. The integrated high-side and low-side MOSFET switches are driven by the controller, with the proprietary integrated inductor storing energy during the on-time and releasing it during the off-time. The 5MHz frequency enables very small inductor and capacitor values, allowing the inductor to be integrated within the package. The voltage-mode control compares a fraction of the output voltage (through the FB pin) against an internal reference, with the error amplifier driving the PWM modulator. External clock synchronization via the SYNC pin allows multiple converters to operate at the same frequency, preventing beat-frequency interference in noise-sensitive applications.
