Supporting LIN 2.0/2.1/2.2/2.2A specifications at data rates up to 20kbps, it features extremely low 3μA sleep mode current, built-in LIN slave terminator, 3.3V/5.0V compatible logic interface, TXD dominant time-out, and resistance to LIN-BAT/GND short-circuits. The -CGE2 suffix indicates automotive-grade (-40 to +125°C) green/halogen-free tape and reel packaging.

The BD41030FJ operates as a LIN bus transceiver converting between the MCU UART TXD/RXD signals and the single-wire LIN bus signal. In transmit mode, the TXD input drives the LIN bus pin low (dominant) when TXD is low, and the bus is pulled high (recessive) via an external pull-up resistor when TXD is high. In receive mode, the LIN bus voltage level is compared against thresholds to generate the RXD output. The built-in LIN slave terminator eliminates the need for an external series diode and resistor for slave nodes. Sleep mode powers down most internal circuitry while maintaining the ability to wake on LIN bus activity, reducing current to just 3μA.
