The NCP303LSN30T1G from onsemi is a CMOS voltage detector IC with 3.0V threshold in TSOP-5 (SOT-23-5) package. The LS suffix denotes active-low open-drain output. The 3.0V threshold (N30) is ideal for monitoring 3.3V power rails, detecting when voltage drops below the 3.0V threshold. The +/-1.5% detection accuracy ensures reliable reset thresholds. The 0.5uA supply current is among the lowest available, making it ideal for battery-powered always-on monitoring. Built-in hysteresis (3-6% of VDET) prevents output oscillation.

The NCP303LSN30T1G operates as a CMOS voltage detector. (1) The input voltage is compared against an internal precision reference. When VDD drops below 3.0V, the output transistor turns off and the open-drain output goes high (via external pull-up), asserting the active-low reset signal. (2) The built-in hysteresis ensures that VDD must rise by 3-6% above 3.0V before the output de-asserts. This prevents chattering when VDD hovers near the threshold, which could cause erratic MCU reset behavior. (3) The 0.5uA supply current allows the detector to remain powered continuously without significantly impacting battery life. The operating voltage range of 0.7V to 10V covers most system rails. The detector is fully specified down to 0.7V, meaning the reset output remains asserted even when the supply collapses to very low levels.
