The 0.8V reference voltage is accurate to +/-1%, enabling precise low-voltage output setting for FPGA and DSP core voltages. The device achieves 70dB PSRR at 1kHz and 40uV RMS output noise, providing clean power for sensitive loads. The SOIC-8 package with exposed pad (EP) provides efficient thermal dissipation. The AP7167-SPG-13 operates as a low-dropout linear regulator using a CMOS pass element. (1) The error amplifier compares a fraction of the output voltage (via external resistor divider) against the internal 0.8V reference and drives the PMOS pass transistor to maintain regulation. The PMOS architecture allows the low 250mV dropout voltage since the pass element operates in the linear region with minimal VDS. (2) The power-good (POK) comparator monitors the output voltage and asserts the open-drain POK output when the output is within the specified regulation window, enabling power sequencing in multi-rail systems. (3) The 70dB PSRR at 1kHz is achieved through the high-gain error amplifier and internal compensation, attenuating input supply ripple before it reaches the output. Thermal shutdown activates at approximately 150C junction temperature, and current limit protects against output short circuits.
