The ADM2682EBRIZ-RL7 from Analog Devices is a fully isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with integrated isolated DC-DC converter, eliminating external isolation components. Supports up to 16Mbps data rate with 2500Vrms galvanic isolation in SOIC-16W.

The ADM2682EBRIZ-RL7 is an isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Analog Devices in SOIC-16W with 16Mbps data rate and 2500Vrms isolation. It integrates an RS-485 transceiver with iCoupler digital isolation AND an isolated DC-DC converter in a single package. The internal isolated power supply converts VCC (3.0-5.5V) to VISO (approximately 3.3V or 5.0V selectable) through an on-chip transformer and rectifier, eliminating the need for an external isolated DC-DC converter. This is the key differentiator from devices like the ISO3080 which require a separate isolated supply. The RS-485 transceiver supports full-duplex (4-wire) or half-duplex (2-wire) operation. The DE and RE (active LOW, internally tied to DE complement) pins control bus direction. In full-duplex mode, the driver (Y/Z) and receiver (A/B) operate simultaneously. The 16Mbps data rate supports Profibus DP and other high-speed industrial protocols. The internal LDO regulates VISO to a clean 3.3V or 5V rail for the bus side circuitry. The iCoupler isolation barrier uses chip-scale micro-transformers with 20um polyimide insulation. Fail-safe biasing ensures RxD is HIGH when the bus is idle. The device supports up to 256 nodes on the bus.
