The Q 8.0-JXE75/1-12-50/50-LF from Jauch Quartz is an 8.0 MHz AT-cut fundamental mode quartz crystal in the JXE75/1 2-pad surface-mount ceramic package measuring 7.5 x 5.0 x 1.3mm. The JXE75 series covers frequencies from 6.0 to 170.0 MHz across fundamental, 3rd overtone, 5th overtone, and BT-cut modes, with the 8.0 MHz version operating in fundamental AT-cut mode. This device specifies ±50ppm frequency tolerance at 25C and ±50ppm frequency stability over the -20C to +70C operating range, with a 12pF load capacitance. The ESR (equivalent series resistance) is specified at 60 Ohm maximum (30 Ohm typical) for the 8.0-9.999 MHz range, ensuring reliable oscillation start-up in most Pierce oscillator circuits. In a Pierce oscillator circuit, the crystal operates as a highly selective bandpass filter in the feedback path, with the 12pF load capacitance (CL) forming the phase-shift network. The oscillation frequency is determined by f = fS x (1 + C1 / (2 x (C0 + CL))), where fS is the series resonant frequency, C1 is the motional capacitance, and C0 is the shunt capacitance.
