The PIC12F675-I/SN is a classic 8-pin 8-bit PIC microcontroller from Microchip, renowned for packing powerful peripherals into a tiny 8-pin SOIC package. With 1.75KB Flash, 64B RAM, 128B EEPROM, 4-channel 10-bit ADC, and an analog comparator with programmable reference, it can handle many small control tasks that would otherwise require multiple discrete ICs. The internal 4MHz oscillator eliminates external clock components, while ICSP enables firmware updates in the field. Only 35 instructions make it one of the easiest MCUs to learn.

The PIC12F675 uses the classic PIC mid-range architecture with a 14-bit instruction word and 8-bit data path. Instructions execute in 1 cycle (4 clock periods) except branches which take 2 cycles. The 8-level hardware stack supports subroutine nesting. GPIO pins GP0-GP5 serve dual functions: digital I/O with optional weak pull-ups, and analog inputs (AN0-AN3) for the 10-bit ADC. The ADC performs successive approximation conversion in 12-24μs. TMR1 is a 16-bit timer with optional 32kHz crystal oscillator for real-time clock operation. ICSP programming uses GP0 (ICSPDAT) and GP1 (ICSPCLK) with MCLR (GP3).
