The LM358DR from Texas Instruments is an industry-standard dual operational amplifier featuring two independent high-gain internally compensated op-amps. It operates from a single supply (3V to 32V) or dual supplies (±1.5V to ±16V), with a common mode input range that includes ground. With 700 kHz GBW, 100 dB DC gain, and low 0.7 mA per-channel quiescent current, it is the workhorse dual op-amp for general-purpose signal conditioning in consumer and industrial applications.

The LM358DR contains two independent op-amps, each consisting of a differential input stage, gain stage, and output stage. The input stage uses a PNP differential pair that allows the common mode range to extend to ground (VEE), enabling single-supply operation. The gain stage provides the high open-loop gain (100 dB typical), while the internal compensation capacitor (5 pF) ensures stability at unity gain. The output stage is a class AB push-pull that can source and sink current, with short-circuit protection limiting the output current to approximately 40 mA.
