It is the SMD equivalent of the industry-standard 1N4148 through-hole diode, offering 100V reverse voltage, 300mA forward current, and a reverse recovery time of just 4ns. With low capacitance (2pF max) and low forward voltage, it is ideal for general-purpose switching, signal routing, and logic protection in automated assembly applications.

The 1N4148W-7-F operates as a standard PN junction switching diode: (1) Forward Bias: When anode voltage exceeds cathode by approximately 0.6V, the PN junction conducts with low forward resistance. The epitaxial planar construction ensures a low and consistent forward voltage drop. (2) Reverse Bias: When cathode voltage exceeds anode, the junction blocks current flow up to the 100V rating, with maximum leakage of 1µA at 75V. (3) Fast Switching: The small junction area and epitaxial construction minimize charge storage, enabling the 4ns reverse recovery time. The low junction capacitance (2pF max) further supports high-speed switching operation.
