The PD69104B1ILQ-TR is a 4-port Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) controller from Microchip in QFN-48 (7x7mm), compliant with IEEE 802.3at (Type 2, up to 30W per port). The PSE controller manages the full PoE power delivery sequence: Detection (probes the line with 2.7-10.1V to identify a valid PD signature resistor of 23.75-26.25kOhm), Classification (applies 15.5-20.5V to read the PD class resistor, determining power requirement 0-4 or 0-8 for 802.3at), and Power-on (applies 48V after successful detection/classification, with inrush current limiting to 400mA). The I2C interface provides register-based control and monitoring: port enable/disable, power budget allocation, real-time current/voltage monitoring, and fault reporting (over-current, over-temperature, short-circuit). Each port has an internal 0.25-ohm sense resistor for current measurement with +/-3% accuracy. The power budget manager ensures total port power does not exceed the PSE power supply capability. The device supports both Type 1 (15.4W) and Type 2 (30W) PDs, automatically negotiating power class. The -B1 revision adds improved detection algorithm to reject non-PoE devices.
