The N79E715AT28 is an 8-bit 8051-compatible microcontroller from Nuvoton in SSOP-28, running at 22MHz with 32KB Flash and 2KB SRAM. The N79E series is Nuvoton’s cost-optimized 8051 family with enhanced peripherals. The 12-bit ADC provides 4096 quantization levels across 8 channels with 500ksps conversion rate, suitable for precision analog measurement in sensor and control applications. The ADC supports automatic scanning of multiple channels and hardware comparison against threshold values. The device includes one UART (supporting framing error detection and auto-address recognition), one SPI port (master/slave at up to 10MHz), one I2C port (master/slave at up to 400kHz), and a PCA (Programmable Counter Array) with 2 channels providing capture, compare, and 8-bit PWM. Two 16-bit timers (Timer0/1) provide standard 8051 timing, plus Timer2 with capture/compare/reload. The programmable clock output (CLKO) on P1.0 can generate system clock/2 for external circuitry. The on-chip RC oscillator (22.1184MHz +/-1%) eliminates the external crystal for cost-sensitive applications, while the external crystal input supports up to 22MHz for precise timing. The dual DPTR (Data Pointer) speeds up block data moves. The ISP (In-System Programming) via UART allows firmware updates without a programmer. The -AT28 suffix specifies SSOP-28, industrial temperature (-40C to +85C). Applications include sensor interfaces, motor control, and battery management.
