The LTM8032EV#PBF from Analog Devices is an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliant 36V, 2A DC/DC uModule buck regulator designed to meet the radiated emissions requirements of EN55022 Class B. The package integrates the switching controller, power switches, inductor, filter components, and all support circuitry into a single surface-mount module. Only bulk input and output filter capacitors are needed to complete the design. The LTM8032 operates over a wide input voltage range of 3.6V to 36V and supports an adjustable output voltage from 0.8V to 10V. The switching frequency is programmable from 200kHz to 2.4MHz via a single resistor, enabling optimization for efficiency or size. Current mode control provides stable operation, and programmable soft-start reduces inrush current. The low-profile 71-lead LGA package (15 x 9 x 2.82mm) enables high-density point-of-load regulation.

The LTM8032EV#PBF operates as a current-mode controlled buck converter with integrated magnetics. Key subsystems include: (1) Current-Mode PWM Controller – compares the output voltage error signal with the inductor current to generate the PWM duty cycle, providing fast transient response and inherent current limiting; (2) Integrated Power MOSFETs – high-side and low-side switches are integrated within the module, optimized for 2A output; (3) Integrated Inductor – a custom-wound power inductor is encapsulated within the package; (4) EMI Filter – integrated input filter components reduce conducted and radiated emissions to meet EN55022 Class B; (5) Soft-Start Circuit – an external capacitor programs the output voltage ramp rate; (6) Feedback Network – an external resistor divider sets the output voltage with +/-1% accuracy reference.
