Product Overview

The LM317TG from onsemi is an adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulator capable of over 1.5A from 1.2V to 37V. Functionally equivalent to TI LM317T with Pb-free TO-220-3 construction. Features internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe operating area protection. Only two external resistors set the output voltage.

The LM317TG from onsemi is the Pb-free version of the industry-standard LM317 adjustable positive voltage regulator. Over 1.5A output, adjustable 1.2V to 37V with two external resistors. Comprehensive protection: current limiting, thermal shutdown, safe-area compensation. TO-220-3 with Pb-free termination for RoHS-compliant designs.

Maintains 1.25V reference between OUTPUT and ADJUST pins. VOUT = 1.25V x (1 + R2/R1) + IADJ x R2. Internal error amplifier drives NPN Darlington output for regulation. Current limiting at ~2.2A. Thermal shutdown at ~170°C. Minimum 3.5mA load current for regulation.
