Product Overview
The FT2232D-REEL from FTDI (Future Technology Devices International) is a dual USB to serial UART/FIFO interface IC. It features two independent multi-purpose UART/FIFO controllers that can be individually configured for various modes including UART, FIFO, bit-bang I/O, MPSSE (Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine) for JTAG/I2C/SPI, CPU-style FIFO, MCU host bus emulation, and fast opto-isolated serial. The device is fully USB 2.0 Full Speed compliant and handles the entire USB protocol on-chip, eliminating the need for USB-specific firmware programming.
