The XAL4020-222MEB from Coilcraft is a 2.2µH shielded power inductor rated for 5.5A with 25mΩ DCR in a 4x4x2mm package. It is designed for high-efficiency DC-DC converter applications requiring low EMI and high saturation current.

The inductor stores energy in its magnetic field when current flows through the winding. In a buck converter, the inductor smooths the pulsed switch output into a continuous DC current. The shielded construction contains the magnetic flux within the core, minimizing EMI coupling to nearby circuits.
