The WPN4020HR47MT is a shielded wirewound power inductor providing 0.47 uH inductance in a 4.0 x 2.0 mm surface-mount package. With 6.5 A saturation current and 35 mOhm DCR, it is optimized for high-efficiency DC-DC buck converter output stages in portable and embedded systems. The magnetic shielding minimizes electromagnetic interference with adjacent sensitive circuits. Operating from -40 to +125 deg C, it supports automotive and industrial temperature requirements.

The WPN4020HR47MT uses a wirewound construction with a ferrite core and magnetic shield. The copper winding is wound on a soft-ferrite drum core, and a ferrite shield cap covers the top and sides to confine the magnetic field. This shielded construction significantly reduces radiated EMI compared to unshielded types, allowing placement near sensitive RF and analog circuits. During buck converter operation, the inductor stores energy in its magnetic field during the switch-on period and releases it to the load during the switch-off period. The 0.47 uH value and 6.5 A saturation current make it suitable for converters operating at 1-5 MHz with output currents up to 4-5 A.
