The TPS1H100AQPWPRQ1 is a Texas Instruments AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified single-channel smart high-side power switch in a 14-pin HTSSOP package, designed for automotive 12V/24V load driving applications. The 40V operating voltage and 100mohm RDS(on) handle typical automotive bus conditions including cold-crank and load-dump transients. The integrated NMOS power FET with charge-pump gate drive requires no external gate driver components. The adjustable current limit, set by an external resistor on the ILIM pin, protects loads and wiring with +/-20% accuracy. Version A provides an open-drain status output (STS) that reports fault conditions including overload, short-to-ground, open-load, and thermal shutdown. The accurate current sense output ( +-30mA at 1A) enables real-time load current monitoring for predictive diagnostics and smart power management. Full diagnostic coverage includes on-state and off-state open-load and short-to-battery detection, tested to AEC-Q100-12 Grade A with 1 million short-to-ground cycles. ISO 7637-2 and ISO 16750-2 electrical transient immunity is certified. Packaged in HTSSOP-14 with exposed thermal pad rated for -40C to +125C ambient, -40C to +150C junction.

The TPS1H100A uses an integrated N-channel MOSFET as the high-side switch element. An internal charge pump generates the gate voltage above the source (output) to fully enhance the NMOS, achieving the 100mohm RDS(on). The current sense circuit uses a sense FET technique that mirrors a small fraction of the load current to the SENSE pin, where an external resistor converts it to a proportional voltage. The current limit comparator monitors the load current and reduces the gate drive when the limit (set by the ILIM resistor) is exceeded, operating in constant-current mode. Thermal swing protection gradually reduces the current limit as junction temperature rises, preventing thermal runaway while maintaining partial operation. The diagnostic logic monitors the output voltage and current in both on and off states to detect open-load, short-to-battery, and short-to-ground conditions. The STS open-drain output pulls low when a fault is detected. An internal clamp protects against inductive load negative voltage spikes at turn-off. The EN pin control input is compatible with 3.3V and 5V microcontroller logic.
