The TI TLV1117LV33DCYR is an 800mA LDO providing a fixed 3.3V output in the industry-standard SOT-223 package. It is a modern, improved version of the classic 1117 LDO family with lower quiescent current and better accuracy. The 5V-to-3.3V conversion capability makes it a staple for board-level power distribution in FPGA, MCU, and networking applications.

The TLV1117LV33DCYR uses a PNP pass transistor in a bipolar LDO configuration, providing 800mA output current with 1.1V dropout. The SOT-223 package with its large tab (connected to pin 2/output) provides excellent thermal dissipation for the higher power operation. The device is stable with only 10uF ceramic output capacitor. The ±1% accuracy is maintained over temperature and load variations through a trimmed bandgap reference.
