The TLE7258SJXUMA1 from Infineon is an AEC-Q100 qualified LIN transceiver supporting all LIN standards from 1.2 to 2.2A at 20kbps. The suffix SJ denotes the PG-DSO-8 (SOIC-8) package, XUMA1 indicates tape and reel with green (RoHS/halogen-free) qualification. With ultra-low sleep mode current below 10uA and bus wake-up capability, it enables always-listening LIN nodes with minimal battery drain. The device provides +/-10kV ESD robustness per IEC 61000-4-2, TXD dominant timeout, over-temperature protection, and is optimized for extremely low electromagnetic emission and high immunity in automotive environments.

The TLE7258 operates through four subsystems: (1) LIN Physical Layer: A single-wire transceiver converts logic-level TXD signals to LIN bus dominant/recessive levels with optimized slew rate for minimal EME. The receiver filters bus noise and outputs received data via RXD. (2) Operating Modes: Normal mode for active communication, standby mode with reduced current and wake capability, and sleep mode with less than 10uA current consumption while monitoring the bus for wake events. (3) INH Output: A dedicated output that can control an external voltage regulator, allowing the ECU to power down completely in sleep mode and re-energize upon wake-up. (4) Protection: TXD dominant timeout prevents bus lockup from stuck microcontrollers. Over-temperature shutdown, undervoltage detection, and bus short-circuit protection ensure robustness in automotive fault conditions.
