The STMicroelectronics STM8S105C4T6TR is an 8-bit microcontroller from the STM8S Access series, featuring 16 KB Flash program memory, 1 KB RAM, and 6 KB true data EEPROM in a 48-pin LQFP package. The STM8 core runs at up to 16 MHz with 3-stage pipeline and 80 MIPS peak performance, providing sufficient processing power for real-time control tasks in industrial, consumer, and automotive applications. The 48-pin package provides up to 38 general-purpose I/O pins with flexible alternate function mapping. Key peripherals include 2x UART, 1x SPI (up to 10 Mbit/s), 1x I2C (up to 400 kHz), 3x 16-bit timers with PWM, a 10-bit ADC with up to 10 channels, and a window watchdog. The 6 KB true EEPROM (with 100,000 erase/write cycle endurance) is rare in this price segment and enables reliable non-volatile data storage for calibration values, configuration parameters, and event counters without external memory. The device operates from 2.95V to 5.5V over -40C to +85C (industrial) or -40C to +125C (automotive grade variants). The single-wire SWIM (Single Wire Interface Module) debug interface simplifies development by requiring only one pin for in-circuit debugging and programming.

The STM8S105C4 uses the STM8 8-bit CPU core with a Harvard architecture (separate program and data buses) and a 3-stage instruction pipeline that achieves one instruction per clock cycle for most instructions. The 16 MHz maximum clock frequency yields 80 MIPS peak throughput. The internal RC oscillator (16 MHz +/-1%) provides a clock source without external components, or an external crystal/clock can be used for higher accuracy. The memory map assigns Flash at 0x8000, RAM at 0x0000, and EEPROM at 0x4000, with peripheral registers mapped in the upper address space. The I2C interface supports master and slave modes with 7-bit and 10-bit addressing, and the SPI interface supports master and slave modes with clock rates up to 10 Mbit/s. The 10-bit successive-approximation ADC converts in 3.5 us (286 kSPS) and supports continuous scan mode across multiple channels. The timers can be cascaded for 32-bit counting and support PWM generation with dead-time insertion for motor control. The SWIM debug interface allows read/write access to all memory and registers using a single-wire protocol at up to 232 kB/s, supporting breakpoint debugging and flash programming through the ST-Link tool.
