The STM32G473RET6 is an STMicroelectronics high-performance microcontroller based on the Arm Cortex-M4 32-bit RISC core operating at up to 170MHz with floating-point unit (FPU) and DSP instructions. The device features 512KB Flash, 128KB SRAM, and an extensive analog peripheral set designed for digital power control and motor drive applications. The High-Resolution Timer (HRTIM) provides 184-picosecond timing resolution for precise PWM generation in switch-mode power supplies. Five 12-bit ADCs (up to 4MSps) enable simultaneous multi-channel sampling, while five 12-bit DACs provide multi-channel analog output. Four internal operational amplifiers and seven comparators eliminate external signal conditioning components. The CORDIC coprocessor accelerates trigonometric calculations for motor control and transformation algorithms, and the Filter Math Accelerator (FMAC) offloads digital filter computations from the CPU. The device supports USB 2.0 Full-Speed, CAN-FD, and multiple UART/SPI/I2C interfaces. Packaged in 64-pin LQFP rated -40°C to +85°C.

The STM32G473 operates with the Arm Cortex-M4 core executing instructions from Flash or SRAM at 170MHz. The FPU accelerates single-precision floating-point operations in one cycle. The HRTIM uses a DLL-delay-line architecture clocked at 170MHz x 32 = 5.44GHz equivalent to achieve 184ps timing resolution for PWM outputs, critical for zero-crossing switching in high-frequency power converters. The CORDIC coprocessor performs coordinate rotation (sin/cos, atan2, magnitude) in hardware, offloading the CPU from trigonometric calculations common in field-oriented control (FOC) algorithms. The FMAC implements IIR and FIR digital filters in hardware, useful for current loop compensation. The internal op amps can be configured as gain stages, transimpedance amplifiers, or comparators, reducing BOM cost. The five ADCs can be triggered simultaneously by the HRTIM for coherent multi-phase current sampling.
