The RTL8153B-VB-CG from Realtek is a Gigabit Ethernet PHY with USB 3.0 MAC interface in a QFN-32 package. It provides reliable Ethernet connectivity for networking equipment, embedded systems, and consumer electronics.

The Ethernet PHY implements the physical layer of the OSI model. On the line side, it drives and receives differential signals on twisted-pair cables (100BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T). On the MAC side, it connects via USB 3.0. The PHY performs PAM-5 encoding/decoding for Gigabit, auto-negotiation to establish link speed and duplex, and error detection via CRC.
