The MCP73871T-2CCI-ML from Microchip is a 1A lithium-ion battery charger in a DFN-10 package. It provides a complete CC/CV charging profile with programmable current and charge status indication.

The charger operates in three phases: pre-charge (trickle), constant-current (CC), and constant-voltage (CV). In CC mode, the programmed current charges the battery until the voltage reaches 4.2V. In CV mode, voltage is held constant while current tapers off.
