The MAX7219 from Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated) is a serially interfaced 8-digit LED display driver that interfaces microprocessors to 7-segment numeric LED displays. It includes BCD code-B decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment and digit drivers, and 8×8 static RAM in 24-pin DIP and SO packages.
