The LT4363IDE-2#TRPBF is a high voltage surge stopper from Analog Devices, operating voltage 4V-56V, with integrated reverse input protection, adjustable current limiting, external N-channel MOSFET, in a DFN-14 package.

The LT4363IDE-2#TRPBF is a high-voltage surge stopper with current limit from Analog Devices, operating from 4 V to 80 V input in a 12-lead DFN (4 mm x 3 mm) package. It protects loads from high-voltage transients by controlling an external N-channel MOSFET to regulate the output to a safe level during overvoltage events. The -2 variant features automatic retry with less than 1 percent duty cycle after fault clearing. With reverse input protection to -60 V, adjustable fault timer, and UV/OV comparators, it is ideal for automotive load dump, hot swap, and industrial surge protection.

The LT4363IDE-2 monitors the input voltage through the VCC pin and controls an external N-channel MOSFET via the GATE pin. During normal operation, the GATE is driven above the source to fully enhance the MOSFET. When an overvoltage transient occurs, the feedback (FB) pin voltage exceeds its threshold, and the error amplifier reduces the GATE drive to regulate the output at the clamped voltage level, allowing the load to continue operating. If the voltage drop between SNS and OUT exceeds 50 mV (overcurrent), an internal amplifier limits the sense voltage and starts a fault timer inversely proportional to MOSFET stress. If the timer expires, the FLT pin pulls low and the MOSFET turns off. The -2 variant automatically retries after a cool-down period with less than 1 percent duty cycle. The UV and OV comparators monitor input undervoltage and overvoltage conditions independently.

LT4363IDE-2 is a surge stopper from ADI in DFN-12 (4x3mm). The LT4363-1 version provides automatic retry after fault (vs. latchoff for -2). The LT4356IMS-3 offers similar surge stopping with latchoff in MSOP-10. The TPS2595 from TI provides eFuse with overvoltage protection in VSSOP-10 for lower voltage applications. The MAX16141 from ADI/Maxim offers overvoltage and reverse polarity protection in TDFN-8. For automotive ISO 7637 compliance, the LT4363-2 with external MOSFET provides robust 100V+ transient protection.
